As you gear up, consider your calorie intake during this deload week. Maintaining a steady intake is often a good approach, especially if you're not significantly reducing your training volume. However, if you feel the need for a little extra recovery, a slight increase in calories—particularly from carbohydrates—can help boost your energy levels and support recovery.
Don’t forget to listen to your body! If you’re feeling fatigued, a small bump in your intake may be just what you need. Focus on high-quality, nutritious foods like lean proteins, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates to fuel your body right.
And let’s not forget hydration! Staying well-hydrated is crucial for recovery and ensuring you perform at your best.
