Moonbeam, it's your hero, Muscle Hero (MH). I hope you’re ready to tag-team these anvils, and lift others' spirits like 50-lb. dumbbells: swiftly and with little effort.

I look at bodybuilding as therapy—a well-kept secret in the recovery world. In the past three months, I finished my first Spartan Race and competed in the IM ABLE foundation’s first Ruck and Roll event, raising over $1,100.

But the heaviest weights I’ve lifted weren’t made of iron. At 37, 24 years post-injury, I realize the trauma took away more than just my physical baseline; it interrupted the fundamental phases of my childhood and maturing process. This means my MH efforts are now focused on emotional stability—the challenging work of addressing the automatic instinct to avoid conflict and cut ties just to protect the vulnerable 13-year-old inside.

This book, Mastering Metacognition, Momentum, and The MH Manifest, is the system I created to build the emotional scaffolding I never had. It's the blueprint for rebuilding your entire self—mind, body, and spirit—not just the parts that were broken.

To beat villains like fatigue and chronic conflict avoidance, you need a blueprint—a plan that turns your experience into pure power. I created this system by channeling the energy I used to avoid the interests of my heart, transforming it into a guide for genuine connection and growth. This book hands you that plan, built on three essential pillars I use every single day:

  • Mastering Metacognition: This is your internal scanner, the superpower that lets you see your own thoughts, track your energy, and understand the internal trauma triggers—especially those that cause you to protect yourself by withdrawing. You cannot fix what you cannot see.

  • Building Momentum: This is your propulsion engine, the system for achieving small, consistent wins. We learn how to build habits and reduce the friction that keeps you stuck in place, physically and emotionally.

  • Adopting The MH Manifest: This is your personal code of ethics, a foundational set of principles that guides your decisions and sustains your recovery through every storm. It is the framework for developing the emotional stability and communication skills that trauma often steals.

In these pages, you will learn to put on your own mask, define your own code, and finally step into the role of the hero in your own life. Welcome to the Manifest.
